Samantha Mohr
In her first pageant, at the recommendation of an acquaintance of UGA student, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. With this win, Mohr was eligible to compete in her place in the Miss Georgia pageant which was scheduled for June 1985. Mohr won the title of Miss Georgia 1985 on 22nd June, 1985. Over $3500 was given Mohr's scholarship funds along with other awards. In her role as Miss Georgia, her activities included public appearances across the state of Georgia. Mohr, Georgia's representative, was also at Miss America 1986, Atlantic City, New Jersey in September of 1985. Mohr predicted it was likely that Susan Akin would win Miss America by computer modeling. The odds of winning were 22:1. Mohr didn't make the Top-10 list for the national crown. Mohr's time in the role of Miss Georgia lasted until she succeeded her successor Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th in 1986.
